White Square Shaped Plates, Saucers and More

I have been dying to change my dinner plates for the past year. Mistmatched plates and bowls were tolerated until we moved to our new home. I needed new plates. And I got them.

For at total of 4,400 pesos or roughly $91.00, I got the following white pieces of dinnerware

6 pieces square shaped dinner plates
6 pieces square shaped Salad plates
2 pieces square shaped serving platter (small)
6 pieces square shaped saucers with 6 cups

and where did I get these exquisite porcelain dishes?

At the Living Well Home Stores , Podium (near SM Megamall)

I saw the sale sign with 20% discount. The original price of the large dinner place was 255 pesos or $5.30. With the 20% discount it amounted to 204 pesos or $4.25 a piece. It was a perfect opportunity to buy the new dinnerware.

They also had a new collection of items like this green/brown or blue/brown dinnerware

So pretty but I still preferred white. Next item on my shopping list is a charger plate.

A great place for shopping even for the newly wed or for bridal registry.

Old Furniture at Evangelista St. Makati City

Garage Sale is always fun. You never know when you can find some useful item. There’s a place along the side streets of Evangelista St. in Makati City that have rows of houses selling garage sale items. My family and I scooted over there to check out old furniture we could use for our new home. Checking out the simple consoles the price ranged from 4000 pesos to 6000 pesos. A chest costs around 3,500 pesos. They are definitely cheaper than the regular furniture shops.

One can also find household and kitchen accessories in some stores. There are old couches which can be reupholstered.

There are even old clothes, shoes, records and other knick knacks.

Unfortunately I couldn’t find the writing table I wanted.

Living Room Furniture at Federal Hardware

Moving to our new home involves shopping for new furniture. So starting today, I am going to post a few of my “window-shopping finds”. Over at Federal Hardware in Pasong Tamo extension, Makati, Federal Hardware offers a wide range of furniture, hardware and other home improvement needs. The place is not for us. I find the prices of the living room furniture quite pricey for my taste. The only cheap furniture I saw were shoe cabinets but that’s another story.
