I wasn’t supposed to be at the private launch of Forever 21 in SM Megamall. The day before , I received a text message from Tim Yap which contained a lot of smiley faces asking me to attend the VIP launch on July 1. He was the host. I didn’t expect much from Forever 21. When Lauren and I were in San Francisco two years ago, she ignored Forever 21.
This time. my daughter was excited that Forever 21 will be in the Philippines. So off we went to SM Megamall ( I called my other daughter to join us) and was surprised at the number of guests already at the front of the store. The stores is huge and contained a lot of cool and trendy clothes. Prices seem affordable but I was not too interested in the clothes. Lauren spotted a lot of clothes and posted it in her blog entry , Forever 21 in the Philippines.
Forever 21 had basics and even office wears. The trendy clothes really looked exciting. I bet if I were younger, I would buy a couple of them. There were styles that suit moms like me though.
What piqued my interest were the affordable accessories.
I tried on a couple of headbands and earrings. I used to wear headbands when I was much younger and got a few of them .
I loved the rings but my other daughter bought vintage rings in Singapore and told me not to buy anymore. How cool that my daughters and I can share accessories.
Lauren and I were busy admiring the merchandise. She asked me for advanced Christmas dress which I always give . I told her Christmas was too far off. Besides most of the merchandise was affordable at 2000 pesos or less. Marielle, who came from Singapore swears the Philippine prices are much cheaper. She bought a couple of plain tops that will go well with her vintage jewelry purchases from Singapore.
Lauren managed to buy a few items. It took us another 45 minutes to fall in line and pay at the cashier. Since Forever 21 is new, expect long lines. Wear flats when shopping and of course, bring cash or credit card.
