Havaianas Special Edition Leisure Towels Contest

UPDATE Winner is Ivan Girl

Aside from the obvious reasons of utilizing towels, I kinda used mine to save face. Hehehe. I once had this light violet towel that I used to cover a “red stain” on my soft blue-colored skirt. The red stain was from a spilled catsup I sat on while dining in McDo. I wouldn’t mind sporting it up as it was but it looked like I had those bad feminine days. Used my towel by clipping one corner on top and letting the other 2 sides pinned covering the stain. It looked weird but the colors kinda matched up. :)

According to The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, pop culture’s most reliable handbook for space travel, a towel is “the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have”. Although hardly anyone gets the chance to go on an intergalactic journey, a towel is still a present that will be appreciated by anyone. You can keep it neatly folded in the guest bathroom, or carry it around in your backpack or suitcase as you jet set all over the country or around the world during the holidays.

If a towel is what you need for the holiday season, whether as a present or for yourself, check out the latest addition to Havaianas’ arsenal of travel essentials. The new special edition Havaianas Leisure Towels mirrors the convenience and versatility of everyone’s favorite flip-flops brand. These colorful towels are made out of plush and absorbent terrycloth, making it the best seaside companion as you bathe in the sun. At a size of 3.28feet x 4.92feet, it’s big enough to stretch out on, but small enough for you to carry around in a backpack.

a towel can be used a giveaways/ souvenirs for parties, weddings, even gifts. Using such creativity, you can make “diaper cakes”, or lollies (w/popsicle stick) etc..

Use can also use it as sling for broken arm.

For children, it can be as cape or magic carpet, as part of their halloween costumes.

During our 1976 high school Citizen’s Military Training (CAT) bivouac, we wrapped dozens of boiled eggs in my one and only bath towel to keep the eggs hot/warm for midnight snack as we enjoyed a night-long camp fire inside our school campus.

I once attended a seminar on play therapy. The speaker emphasized that the ultimate goal is to encourage self-discovery through active imagination. With this in mind, I think a towel is the perfect tool that can facilitate setting up the backdrop of the child’s play. I was “playing” with my niece at the beach once and while we are stepping inside a hug fluffy white towel, she imagined the ice queen with her ice castle taking a tropical vacation.

One of the simplest ways to add color to your bathroom is by using a variety of towels. While hanging towels over a towel rack is nice, consider trying something a little different and creative to really catch the eye. For example, buy an inexpensive wine rack that holds four to six bottles of wine. This should be a rack that can be set on a counter and not take up too much space. Get one small hand towel for each wine bottle opening in the rack. These can be towels of all different colors or towels in a similar color scheme. Just choose whatever will look the nicest in your bathroom. Fold each towel lengthwise in half and then roll the towel up starting from one end going to the opposite end. Place each towel in the rack in a similar manner to how you would place wine in the rack. For a more elaborate look, tie a decorative bow or ribbon onto the rack. Place the rack on your vanity or other area of the bathroom where you have extra space.

When your a beach fanatic like methen its a must to bring a huge towel before you got to the beach, a towel has many purposes, but for me one of its most important purposes is that it protects you from the heat of the sand, just lay it over the sand and lie down, its a very relaxing feeling to just lay down on a beach.

Such a big towel can be used to give my children one big group bath and drying session. That way I only need one towel every time — saves water, saves detergent, saves money, saves the environment. I hit so many birds in one stone it’s just too incredible for words…

You can wrap a Towel over newly wash clothes and twist it all up so that the excess water from the clothes get absorbed by the towel, it’s like having a spin dryer with you. ain’t that cool.

I love to give towels as a gift and I love colorful towels which the havaianas collection had. I usually create wedding cake towel, baptismal cake towel and the likes in any occasion as a gift and because of the design uniqueness I’ve created on each towel my friends, relatives and love ones really loved it! :) and this Havaianas towels would definitely one of my choices since the brand itself is well known of its durability and style this one is a sure hit for me also :)

I always carry a clean towel from home when I travel and put it over my “pillow” for the night so I am sure that my face won’t have allergies or pimples when I wake up. You never know if they wash the pillowcovers properly or what’s materials are inside the pillow especially if you’re looking for the cheapest place just to sleep after a whole day of adventure. =)

I used a towel once as a weapon to fend off stray angry dogs on a beach. I just made a towel into a whip. Alas! the dogs ran off. My towel, my weapon!

my little girl and i use towels as costumes and props during playtime — dresses, wigs, bags, blankets, curtains, tents, baby slings for baby dolls, table cloth, whatever we can think of.

  18. Maria Joan Joaquin says:

I can wrap my entire body with 2-3 red towels, then wrap my head and feet with green towels, that would make me look like a huge candy that you can place on a huge Christmas tree.

  19. Bev Lim says:

Towels are normally used to dry our skin and wrap our bodies after baths or a swim but it may also be used to warm us during cold temperatures. There’s no limit in the use of a towel, all we need is creativity ♥

  20. kate says:

towels are my everyday emergency bestfriend. it’s a wet-absorbing material – you can use it as an emergency diaper for your kids or napkin for those unguarded moments. ;) towels give me warmth in the coldness of the night or gives me protection from ultraviolet rays of the sun. towels give me the comfort that i need every time i need a pillow, blanket or mat to hug and touch with. towels are also a good camouflage material for hiding anything in your body or hiding from those you don’t like to see or if you don’t want to be recognized by people. i also use if i don’t have a bra or underwear or just to cover my extra fats. last but certainly the most important one is that towels are your first and foremost BIG tears-and-goo-absorber every time you have those down and out moments of your life. you see towels are a part of my life. i can’t imagine my life without them. i love my towels! :)

  21. shugah says:

for me towels can be used in a practical way as a cover when raining or sun striking your face. and can also be used creatively as a towel wrap differently in your head.

    fold the towel lengthwise

fold the endings as if its an earmuff. and voila!

  22. eliza dela cruz says:

I could wax poetic about the virtues of towels but it won’t do it a bit of justice. Suffice it to say that going without a towel is like going without a skin. Nothing to protect us with against the wet, the heat and anything in between. Not only are towels practical, it can even be fashionable by wearing it in a variety of styles and colors. So forget about pricey wraps and sarongs and go instead for the more practical and yet infinitely useful — towels.

  23. underdawg says:

hmmmmm, after the long walk you have enjoyed during the holiday seasons u can roll the towel to elevate your legs to avoid varicose veins

  24. Richard Mamuyac says:

I’ll shape the towel like a pole and tie it up vertically on the ceiling in the middle of the room. Out from the bathroom i’ll dry myself swinging using the towel ala-Tarzan or the ladies can do pole dancing with it while i watch. :-)

  25. jocelyn says:

In case you get marooned on an island, tie your towel to a long pole and wave it like a flag. You might be saved, thanks to your handy towel!

  26. ronald says:

You can use your towel to carry things in case you do not have a bag. Just knot the four corners of your towel together, and your towel bag is ready to use.

  27. Jovita says:

I have used a towel as an art painting canvas using acrylic paint.
I have also used a towel, instead of a conventional non-artistic paint brush, to paint an interior wall of room. The towel produced a matte-like ‘rough’ effect on the wall which I like very much.

T – toilet mat…(laid it down at the doorstep of my C.R.)

O – office decor…(i simply laid it on a glass frame & i now have an instant “towel memorabilia”)

W – wrapper for a wine gift…(once used it as one to be different…simply placed the bottle at the center, wrapped it like a candy and tied it with ribbons at ends)

E – eraser…(once used it as one when there was no board eraser around…hehehe…)

L – loofah…(once used it as a substitute when i had no loofah at the bathroom)

use it to propose or to declare your love for someone, definitely!!!!! one summer when i was a kid, my whole family hied off to the beach. my dad brought along his favorite towel, which my mom had bought for him. after a day of frolicking in the sun, we were all hanging out at our hut when my dad asked my mom if she could get his towel, which was lying in the sand a few meters away. when my mom got up to get it, she saw the words “i love you” spelled out on it in seashells! it was a really sweet gesture that made the day extra special for all of us :)

  30. travelista says:
