The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Products

I have really sensitive, acne-prone skin. Throughout my teenage years (and even until now), I got a lot of pimples that left the most awful looking scars and blemishes. I’ve been looking for a way to improve the way my skin looks and to lighten the blemishes a little, but I didn’t really feel like experimenting with all sorts of lotions since the chemical ingredients could provoke another breakout.

Hooray for The Body Shop and their use of natural ingredients! A couple of months ago, I purchased a bottle of their Tea Tree Oil Blemish Fade Night Lotion on a whim, hoping that it would indeed improve the appearance of my blemishes. The Blemish Fade Night Lotion’s primary ingredient, tea tree oil, is a natural antiseptic that controls oil and lightens blemishes without being harsh on the skin. You’re supposed to apply it onto your face before going to bed because this is when the skin is most receptive to the lotion’s soothing effects. The results are very subtle; though my skin was still as oily after a few weeks of daily use, I noticed that my blemishes were less obvious and I wasn’t breaking out as much as I used to.

Because of my positive experience iwth the Blemish Fade Night Lotion, I picked up a concealer from the Tea Tree line today. I’m not a big fan of using concealer because it feels heavy, as if it were occupying the gaps within my pores. But the Tea Tree Oil Cover Stick feels about as light as face powder, and does a great job of covering up dark spots and pimples on its own!

Together, the Tea Tree Oil Blemish Fade Night Lotion and the Tea Tree Oil Cover Stick cost Php 849 (sale price).

2Go Express- Delivery Service

A couple of weeks ago I joined this book exchange community called Book Mooch where you send books and receive books from fellow Moochers. This service is absolutely free, but the catch is that you have to pay for shipping. I had a couple of books I needed to send locally and I was worried that maybe I accepted more than I could handle because I didn’t have time to make repeat trips to the nearest post office.

Then I discovered that you can send stuff nationwide through 2Go Express - and you don’t necessarily have to leave your house to do it! You can call the 2G0 hotline at 528-7136 and have them pick up your packages at your house. Alternately, you can also visit one of their 200 outlets, which are located inside malls and other easy to find places.

Besides the convenience of pick-up, another awesome thing about 2Go Express is that you don’t have to worry about lost packages. Once your package is registered, you get a tracking number that you can send to your recipient so he or she can track the package through text or through the 2Go website.

I also love how reasonable 2Go’s rates are. Their QuickPac non-document delivery rates costs at least Php 125 for small packages (50 grams), Php 150 for medium sized packages (2 kilos), Php 215 for large packages (3 kilos), and Php 300 for extra large packages (4 kilos).

I haven’t sent out my books yet, but I’ll be giving the 2Go hotline a call right now and ask them if they can pass by the house tomorrow.

For more information on rates, branches, and the service, visit the 2Go website or call the customer service hotline at (+63 2) 5287-136.

Ka-Blog: Ang Coolest Teen Tambayan

August 7th, 2008 with 227 views

Teenagers have always lived on a world of their own, complete with their own culture and vocabulary. Today, however, we’re seeing an entirely new species of teenagers, one that also inhabits a parallel world: cyberspace. It’s practically a whole new universe, where activities like blogging, chatting, social networking, and online gaming serve as alternatives to real-life interaction.

GMA 7 is aware of the things that matter to teenagers today, as well as the need for parents to understand what’s going on in their fast-paced, high-tech world. On August 9, Saturday, GMA 7 is going to air the pilot episode of Ka-Blog, a magazine show featuring everything about adolescent life. The weekly episodes of Ka-Blog will serve as the ultimate teen tambayan as they dish out the latest on trends, gadgets, fashion, hangouts, and other issues relevant to teens like friendships and relationships.

Hosted by GMA 7’s youngest and most talented reporters - Andrea Torres, Mico Aytona, Lucky Mark Mercado, and Monica Verallo - the first episode of Ka-Blog will feature a rare interview with showbiz heartthrobs Richard Gutierrez and KC Conception as well as a behind-the-scenes look of their latest romantic comedy. A fun stunt activity called Parkour will also be tested by Ka-blog Lucky. Finally, Ka-blog Mobica will handle the issue of cyberbullying and interview students who have become victims of bullies in cyberspace.

Tune in to Ka-Blog every Saturday, 10:00 - 10:30 am starting August 9 on GMA-7.
