    rockwell artisan bazaar

For Filipinos, Multiply is more than just a social networking site. It’s also a bustling online mall where you can find unique one-of-a-kind fashion items and a venue where budding entrepreneurs and artists can try a hand at running their own business. On September 18-20, Rockwell brings the best of Multiply sellers to the “real world” at the very first Multiply Artisan Bazaar in the Rockwell Tent. The bazaar will feature only Multiply sellers that offer unique fashion items, beauty products, and more! Some Multiply sellers who create DIY products can even make custom items on the spot so you can take home a unique piece made just for you. And even if you’re just there to window shop, you’ll also get the chance to win exciting raffle prizes like premium kits from Multiply and Power Plant Mall bags. The first 50 Multiply users of each day also get 50% off on the entrance fee.

Unfortunately, the Ukay Manila Store doesn’t have a large enough inventory to participate in the Multiply Artisan Bazaar. But perhaps we’ll start joining bazaars in a few months.

Sticky Things Wall Decals: Add Life to A Room

September 10th, 2009 Lauren Posted in Home Improvement, Shopping at Multiply 2 Comments » 1,762 views

Hanging a picture frame or using wallpaper used to be the only ways you could dress up a bare wall, but now wall decals are increasingly becoming the decor of choice. Aesthetically speaking, they’re not as clunky or rigid as a framed photo and provide far more visual interest than some nondescript painting. If the quality of the decal is good, they even give the illusion of a mural painted right onto the wall. They’re also easy to apply, and come in a number of designs and colors that you can mix and match according to your preference.

It used to be that you could only find wall decals in Ikea catalogs and foreign design blogs, which is why I was so happy when I discovered that Handy Man now carries wall decals from Korea. And if you don’t have time to go to the nearest Handy Man or Home Depot, you can now get wall decals on Multiply. Sticky Things is a local company that provides ready-made wall decals that can be easily applied on any flat surface. And if you’re not satisfied with the ready-made designs they have on stock, Sticky Things accepts orders for custom designs.

    sticky things instructions

Sticky Things also gives easy-to-follow instructions on how to apply wall decals. Each decal comes with spacer dots to make it easier for you to remember the placement you want. Once you’ve finalized the placement, simply apply the decal using the applicator then remove the spacer dots.

I’ll definitely purchase something from Sticky Things when the time comes to decorate my condo. But for those who want to give their rooms a little pick-me-up, you can check out the rest of their designs at stickythings.multiply.com.

    The Clear Shoebox Project

January 7th, 2009 Lauren Posted in Home Furniture, Shopping, Shopping at Multiply 1 Comment » 1,472 views

In our house, we have a whole line of shoe cabinets lined up outside our rooms where we keep our shoes. While it does keep my stuff neat, I have too many shoes and the nicer ones end up getting squished and dirtied by the ones I use everyday. I keep my dressy shoes in their cardboard shoeboxes at the back of my closet, but retrieving them is always such a pain; I end up looking through three or four shoeboxes before finding the pair that I need.

I think I may have discovered a solution to my problem. I stumbled upon The Clear Shoebox Project, a Multiply store that sells shoeboxes with a dimension of 11.5 x 6.5 x 4 – perfect for ladies shoes! Not only do the clear shoeboxes allow you stock your shoes neatly in a tower; no more hunting through boxes and boxes to find the right pair, because you can see right where it’s placed!

Each shoebox costs 75 if you order less than 10; for bulk orders (10 or more), each shoebox costs 70 pesos. Check out the Clear Shoebox Project website for order information and creative ways on how to stack your shoeboxes!

    Cute Dresses from Multiply

December 8th, 2008 Lauren Posted in Fashion, Shopping at Multiply No Comments » 5,192 views

Ever since I was a kid, my mom made it a tradition to buy my sister and I new dresses every year, which we would wear to Simbang Gabi and family lunch the next day. When we were young we’d get matching dresses but as we grew older and developed our own styles, she’d go shopping with us and let us pick out our own clothes. I’m 22 now and earning my own money, but my mom still kept the tradition of buying us Christmas dresses. I’ve already picked out what I wanted to wear from Christmas, but here are some cute dresses I found in Multiply that would look great for the holidays.

I’m not the biggest fan of maxi dresses but this is the first maxi dress I’ve seen that doesn’t look frumpy and housewife-y. This chocolate brown maxi-dress is a one-of-a-kind piece from Earth Child. When I first stumbled upon her Multiply site, I fell absolutely in love with the patchwork style of the dresses and the dressmaker’s pro-environment philosophy. Each dress you see in Earth Child is made by a woman named Devaki, a vegetarian and yoga practitioner who has been making her own clothes since she was seventeen. You can tell by the detail of each piece that a lot of thought, attention, and passion is put into creating every single dress. I have never seen so much of someone’s personality go into clothes – without looking too pretentious or trying-hard to be artsy-fartsy.

The chocolate brown dress costs Php 2,850 – a little more expensive than what I would normally pay for a dress. I understand why it costs so much though – it is made out of cotton linen and cotton silk, has lovely appliques, and an adjustable corset-style back. I absolutely love it! The next time I ever need a dress, I’m definitely buying one from Earth Child.

    Cute Boots from Multiply

December 4th, 2008 Lauren Posted in Fashion, Shopping, Shopping at Multiply 2 Comments » 4,129 views

The month of December (and maybe January) is perhaps the only time of the year when you can get away with wearing boots in the tropics without looking too colonial-minded. Shake the dust off your boots and wear them out proudly – or grab yourself a pair of new ones from your favorite store. Here are a couple of cute boots I found while surfing around Multiply.

    ANKLE BOOTS

Believe it or not, purple is a pretty easy color to pull off. Purple ankle boots look fabulous with a black dress or with jeans and a dark top. P2,050 at Shoecrazeee.
