A couple of weeks ago, I blogged about how thrilled I was to discover Human Heart Nature, an affordable, Philippine-made organic beauty and skin care line. The organic hair care products I bought met all my expectations and I’m really looking forward to trying out some more of their stuff. Shortly after receiving my items in the mail, I discovered yet another online store that sells Philippine-made organic goodness.
The Good Earth is not a manufacturer of organic personal care products. They’re more like an online go-to store if you’re looking for Philippine-made organic stuff by different manufacturers – By Nature Handmade Soaps, Human Heart Nature, Leyende Organics, Holystics, Skin Hour, and Messy Bessy. Like Human Heart Nature, The Good Earth has a socially oriented slant to their business. For every online purchase you make, one peso goes to the non-profit organization of your choice: Anthroposophical Group in the Philippines, The Carewell Community, World Wild Life Philippines, GREENPEACE, PAWS, or Luwalhati ng Maynila. I just bought a couple of skin care products from Skin Hour and Holystics and I can’t wait to try them out!
I’ve been looking for a product that acts as a moisturizer, makeup base, and sunscreen and the Skin Hour Mattifying Day Cream looks very promising. It only has SPF 15, but it claims to control excess oil for a more matte look. Let’s see how well it will do on my oily skin.
My Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Night Lotion is finally running out, so I decided to give the Skin Hour Moisturizing Night Cream a try. It’s supposed to lighten skin as it moisturizes, and I hope the lightening effect targets blemishes rather than the skin itself. I love having morena-ish skin and I don’t want to get any whiter!
I don’t think I need to worry about aging at my age, but the Revitaleyes eye balm was too cheap to resist at only P100. Apply under your eyes every night to moisturize, lighten dark circles, reduce lines, and firm up the skin.
I miss the tightening sensation of a good face mask on my skin, so I purchased Holystics’ Deep Detoxifying Mask & Multi-purpoose First Aid Paste. The warning at the bottom of the product description makes me worry a little though:
If your skin starts to have pimples, know that your skin is undergoing a healing crisis after all that non-invasive vacuuming out of dirt and debris and allow nature to take its course knowing that your skin, which is the largest organ of your body, is cleaning house indeed!
I certainly hope my skin doesn’t break out. o_o
