Parol for Christmas

It’s the time of year where the Christmas parol is once again displayed by the sidewalk.
Christmas shopping comes early in the Philippines. Roadside vendors start selling their Parols or Christmas Lantern already. One can have a choice of first generation till the fourth generation lanterns in any of these vendors.
Such a pretty sight it is to see these parols lining along our streets or subdivisions.

Christmas in the Philippines is never complete without the Christmas parol. It is a timeless tradition. No wonder there is a proliferation of Christmas lantern vendors as early as October.

The parol is an indelible part of the Filipino celebration of Christmas. Can you imagine Christmas in the Philippines without a single parol on display in front of homes or at the malls? The parol is the most visible symbol of the Christmas spirit and shared faith and hope. For millions of Filipino families, this star-shaped lantern evokes the spirit of peace, hope, love, and togetherness brought about by the birth of Jesus over 2,000 years ago.

Parols price ranges from 1200 to 3000 pesos depending on the design and size of the Parol.
