Halloween Decors and Pumpkins

October 7th, 2008 with 580 views

Walking along the streets of rural Missouri, you will be able to spot homes decorated for the Halloween. Unlike the Halloween decors back in the Philippines, the decors in rural Missouri aren’t supermarket-bought plastic baubles. They’re actual pumpkins from their farms and homemade straw figures using their own hay.

Supermarkets and big chain stores like Walmart and Home Depot are decorated in a similar manner and use Indian corn, mini pumpkins, mixed gourds, and corn stalks.

The Halloween decors in rural Missouri are not so much witches and ghosts as farm and autumn-themed.

Pumpkins are sold at $8.99 for jumbo size, $3.99 for Large Pumpkins and $1.75 for small pie pumpkins

These small pumpkins are sold for $1.00 for 2 pieces.

This corn wreath I found in the Farmers’ Market will add that country touch to the door of any home.

Even the gourds in various shapes and sizes are used for Halloween decors. How pretty they are!

This is way too cool than the ones being sold in the malls here.

MO seems to be a nice place for families.
