Third Eye Blind on San Miguel Oktoberfest 120

August 28th, 2008 with 1,856 views

This year’s San Miguel Oktoberfest is starting with a huge bang - way, way before the month of October even begins! On September 5, American alternative rock band Third Eye Blind will open the Oktoberfest Siento Bente (120 days or four months) celebration of the longest, craziest beerfest in the country.

The Oktoberfest 120 is a nationwide phenomenon - over 40 bands will be playing simultaneously in Ortigas, Iloilo, Cebu, Laguna, and Davao to kick off the event. At San Miguel Avenue in Ortigas, four different stages will be set up so that partygoers can listen and dance to their favorite genre - reggae, pop, acoustic, and alternative music. Besides Third Eye blind, big names from the local music industry like The Dawn, River Maya, Paolo Santos, Reggae Mistress, and Rico Blanco will be playing at San Miguel Avenue.

Joining the party are popular Filipino sports personalities, who will be at the “Beat the Champs” corner. Play face-to-face with PBA stars and Efren Bata Reyes and try to beat them in their best game…if you can.

In the provinces, Brownman Revival, Parokya ni Edgar, Itchyworms, and Sugarfree will be playing at Mactan Economic Zone 1 at Lapu-Lapu City (Cebu); R Magsaysay Drive, East Tapinac (Olongapo); Capitol Grounds, Iznart Street (Iloilo); Victoria Plaza Parking Lot, JP Laurel, Bajada (Davao); and Paseo de Sta. Rosa Activity Center (Laguna).

Oktoberfest 120 is sponsored by the Department of Tourism, Toshiba, Converse, Focus Media, Bel Aldea, Cricket Lighters, and Maravilla.
