Philippine Fashion Week 2008: GLIMPSES, A Dawn of a New Decade
The Opening Ceremonies on Monday evening showed us a preview of the Philippine Fashion Week 2008. Called “GLIMPSES: A Dawn of a New Decade”, it featured a sneak peak on the collections from participating local designers for the next 7 days.
The official make-up sponsor of Philippine Fashion Week 2008 is Artistry from Amway, a make-up line especially designed to bring out the inherent beauty in every Filipina. I like that the colors in their palette is meant to enhance the vibrancy of Asian skin tone, hair color, and eye color. Whenever I try on make-up from Western brands they don’t quite look right on my skin. Or maybe it’s just because I don’t know how to put on make-up and mix colors, especially eyeshadow. I’m not sure if Artistry was the only make-up brand used on the models that evening, but I liked how the their faces were made up to look very fresh and natural because this drew more attention to the pieces draped on their bodies.
