Yet, Rene Fuentes observes that online shopping has yet to reach its peak in the Philippines.

“Yes, the number of Filipino online merchants has steadily been increasing. Yet left and right, we still hear complaints of unsecured transactions, delayed deliveries and unreasonable rates. If nothing is done to improve all these, then the local scene won’t be able to compete in the global online arena—and what’s worse is that it is the Filipinos worldwide who utilize online shopping to purchase and/or send gifts to their relatives who would be most disadvantaged,” asserts Rene Fuentes.

“Sending gifts is a means for Filipinos abroad to bridge the distance that separates them from their loved ones. Moreover, Filipinos value traditions and occasions and are very expressive of their thoughts and feelings.”

With this in mind, he has embarked upon the mission of bringing the Philippines at par with international standards of online retailing through eLBC Direct Inc. “A seamless multi-channel experience at par with renowned online retail networks such as Amazon and E-bay is what I envision eLBC Direct Inc to become.”
