Window Curtains, Draperies and Roman Shades Design by Ra’Fe

I think I have mentioned before that my window treatment of previous homes were mere blinds. I never had any idea that window curtains could be so expensive. I could have chosen to buy ready made curtains at department stores. The problem was we had bay windows. Curtains rods needed to be customized. Shopping for a curtain designer was not easy. I wanted to see if they offered quality sewing. At first, I was set on this Korean Curtain designer. But My daughter found Ra’Fe from Real Living Magazine. I was thinking “they are expensive because they got featured in Real Living” but anyway my daughter persisted that we take a look at their design. In the end, we got their services. The fact that the owner herself came to the house is special treatment for me. Call it great customer service. And here is Phase 1 of the the our Window treatment of our new home.

Overall, I am quite happy with the workmanship and design. It cost me a lot of money but one really pays more for quality .

Car Wash

car wash
The great thing about living in this new neighborhood is that services are so accessible. Take for instance the car wash. I used to drive out of my neighborhood just to get the weekly wash. This particular car wash is a few streest away from my home. The service is quite cheap 80 pesos (less than $2.00). The car wash services include jet spraying followed by a foamy wash which is then washed off again. Around two to three men do this service. It’s a far cry from automated car wash in America or even coin-operated. But see, the car wash service is over within 15 minutes. Not Bad!

White Square Shaped Plates, Saucers and More

I have been dying to change my dinner plates for the past year. Mistmatched plates and bowls were tolerated until we moved to our new home. I needed new plates. And I got them.

For at total of 4,400 pesos or roughly $91.00, I got the following white pieces of dinnerware

6 pieces square shaped dinner plates
6 pieces square shaped Salad plates
2 pieces square shaped serving platter (small)
6 pieces square shaped saucers with 6 cups

and where did I get these exquisite porcelain dishes?

At the Living Well Home Stores , Podium (near SM Megamall)

I saw the sale sign with 20% discount. The original price of the large dinner place was 255 pesos or $5.30. With the 20% discount it amounted to 204 pesos or $4.25 a piece. It was a perfect opportunity to buy the new dinnerware.

They also had a new collection of items like this green/brown or blue/brown dinnerware

dishes
So pretty but I still preferred white. Next item on my shopping list is a charger plate.

A great place for shopping even for the newly wed or for bridal registry.
