Parol, The Filipino Christmas Lantern

Christmas shopping comes early in the Philippines. Roadside vendors start selling their Parols or Christmas Lantern already. One can have a choice of first generation till the fourth generation lanterns in any of these vendors. Christmas in the Philippines is never complete without the Christmas parol. It is a timeless tradition. No wonder there is a proliferation of Christmas lantern vendors on an October day.

Aside from the quaint filipino theme of the park, there is a “Taksiyapo Wall” where you can release your anger by throwing a plate at the wall. You can choose a mug or a working TV set. But the TV set will cost you 1000 pesos. The mug is 15 pesos. It’s quite funny
SM Mall of Asia Halloween Fun

Shopping on a weekday at the SM Mall of Asia is such a breeze. The last time I visited SM Mall of Asia was on June 7. A Halloween booth sits on the second floor of the south wing. Aren’t the kids lucky these days? I had to sew a witches’ costume for my 2 girls because Halloween wasn’t a trend in the early nineties. View more photos of SM Mall of Asia Halloween
