Inside Photos of Philippine Idol Song of My Life Night

The theme tonight for Philippine Idol is “Message Through Songs” The 9 Idol finalists choose songs that have either special meaning in their life or convey a special message from them to someone important in their lives. Former South Border lead vocalist Luke Mejares stood as the third judge for the night. So yes, I am back with more inside photos of Philippine Idol. A lot of innovations were seen for the first time such as having a dance number, accompaniment with a grand piano, violin, cello for certain numbers rendered by the Idol finalists. Sometimes the dancing was distracting. I think they should remove dance numbers as it takes away focus from the Idol finalist. Another change was the manner of text voting. Starting tonight, voting will be limited to 2 hours just how it is done at the American Idol. Voting ends at 12:30 am. I think this is a splendid idea as it provides less opportunity to jack up the text votes. My favorites for the night are Gian, Mau and Pow. View Philippine Idol Photos and my blog entry.
Benguet Pine Trees at Camp John Hay

The beauty of Baguio City is seeing the Benguet Pine Trees. Never mind if it’s already crowded in the city but here at Camp John Hay, it’s a relief to be surrounded by nature. It’s a perfect place for family picnics. What used to be the rest-and-recreation base of American military personnel, the Camp is being transformed into a world-class resort and is also Baguio’s biggest pine tree conservation area. According to my husband, the Americans planted the Benguet pine trees which grew rapidly through the years. But Benguet pine is also found in the high mountain areas of southeast Asia including Assam and Burma, southern Vietnam
