The latest in sandal technology
I got a trippy new pair of Happy Feet Sandals today (no pun intended) and I swear, I have never been so enamored by a pair of sandals before. See, technically I got one pair, but with the brilliant invention of changable straps, it was as though I got three sandals for the price of one.
I saw them at Beauty Bar Katipunan (beside Starbucks) yesterday and I thought they were really cute. But what made me want them was when I found out that there are slots at the side of the sandals so that you can change the straps, which they also sold. Let me tell you why that is something really awesome. The reason why I rarely ever buy those cute colorful skirts that are everywhere is because I don’t have sandals that goes with them and it’d be expensive for me to buy a pair just for the skirt. When I buy footwear, I like the kind that’s not only comfortable, but something I can mix and match with other outfits. The design of the sandals is really casual–perfect for school. But at the same time it’s perfect for when I want to wear a colorful printed skirt.
Choosing what strap I wanted to get was quite difficult because there were so many colors and combinations available. I finally decided on getting two–blue and pink–to go with most of my wardrobe. Right after I left the store, I changed the straps to blue to match what I was wearing (which explains the blue straps in the picture; it originally came in white).
The sandals are as comfortable as Birkinstocks but unlike my Birks, they add one inch to my height. They’re a whole lot cheaper too. I’m not sure if Happy Feet is available outside the Philippines because I couldn’t find a website, but if you ever run across a shop that sells them, grab a pair for yourself, as well as a strap or two. It’s well worth it.
