Reversing roles
February 20th, 2005 with 165 views
Since I’m a dork with no life, I haven’t gotten around to seeing any movies this week.
I’ve been really looking forward to seeing Phantom of the Opera and Constantine but stupid schoolwork is keeping me busy.
I’ve been hearing mixed reviews of the two and since I can probably make time to see only one of them, I’ll obviously choose to see the one that looks more promising. So let’s do this differently. Have you seen either Phantom of the Opera or Constantine? What do you think about it? Please give me something intelligent, no crap like “It rocked” or “It was okay/good/bad.” without explaining why.

I like Phantom because i like it.
Hey Lauren! It’s been a while…
I just finished reading a review on Constantine in the latest US weekly mag…
They gave it 3 1/2 out of 4 stars. What’s Good: Very stylish, up to par with Matrix, Keanu gets to wear a lot of black, there’s a dandy devil in pinstripes…good acting, big budget supernatural thriller.
What’s Bad: twisty narrative, script is guilty of lots of cornball comments like this one from Constantine: “God’s a kid with an ant farm.” Plenty of scare tactics but not terribly complex.
I’ll go for Phantom of the Opera, anytime, anyday…good luck.
hey lauren is it?
im actually new here and i dont blog… i accidentally read ur page and i get interested.. enweiz, i’ve watched the phantom of the opera and i liked it very much.. the music was very good and the whole movie was definitely something… im rating it 4/5 coz i was touched by its story and the music was great..
i hvnt watched the constantine but im planning to.. i like it when keanu wears all black
I watched Phantom of the Opera and loved it. It helps that I’m a big opera fan. I loved the music and opening scene was beautifully created. I really went to watch for the music (+ hunky Phantom). One down side is that I couldn’t connect to the heroine. She was my least fave character in the whole movie, as well as her fiancee. I was rooting for the Phantom all the way (tall, dark, handsome + beautiful voice).
Like Sinta, I too was rooting for the Phantom all the way through the film, but it was still fantastic! The visual effects and the music were absoloutely stunning, better than the stage show even. It was a very touching and powerful movie, I almost cried at the end! Definitely a must-see.
