Other stuff Lauren has been doing over the sem break
1. I rediscovered The Adventures of Tintin.
While I was at Fully Booked in Rockwell lusting over His Dark Materials, Fables, The Unauthorized Biography of Lemony Snicket, and various other books, I stumbled upon a rack that held a bunch of The Adventures of Tintin comics. The find took me by surprise since it’s been years since I last read my own Tintin books. They were my dad’s favorite comics back when he wasn’t starting frat wars in UP, and he gave me a couple of them when I was around 8 or 9. The moment I got back, I opened the cabinet in the garage where my childhood books are kept and sure enough, I had five, abandoned-looking Tintin books sitting there. I immediately rescued them from the dust and dirt and mustiness of the cabinet and placed them on my bookshelf. After rereading my comics last night, my lust list has considerably grown; I intend to collect the entire Adventures of Tintin series. Five down, nineteen more to go.
2. I removed the angst from my bedroom walls.
Magazine ads, Squall Lionheart, and those pictures from PULP! magazine. What the hell was my fifteen-year-old self thinking?! I decided to take advantage of my spare time and do a little redecorating. Not only am I bored with the stuff on my walls, but the fact that the heart of my high school self is all over the place makes me ashamed to bring friends in. I mean, Squall Lionheart? Come fucking on. I removed everything with a vengeance and replaced them with Pessimistic Posters, Daredevil, and the X-Men. No, I am not a poseur! I do not claim to be a comic book geek! I only like the said comic book characters because of VS and because the art looks great. STOP CALLING ME A POSEUR!!!
3. My baby has come home to me!
Kylee, my Siamese cat, has been missing for exactly a week. I didn’t think much of it at first, since he’s disappeared once and then showed up three days later, unharmed. But after five days not seeing hair nor hide of my kitty, I grew so worried I even asked the village guards to put flyers at the gate that said, “have you seen my kitty?” No one texted me any sightings of a Siamese cat wandering around, and I started to fear that my dad’s guard-next-door-probably-shot-the-cat-and-buried-his-body theory was correct. But just like his previous disappearance, Kylee showed up in the garage this morning from out of nowhere, as healthy as he was when I last saw him, if not a little thinner and dirtier.

tintin is one of my favorite comics too! i was able to complete all 21 books before, but silly me lent it to classmates who doesn’t know how to care for books nor return them
I love reading Tintin! During any holidays, i love to start the whole series from the beginning!
lol…tintin!! I loved the whole series and am looking to get the VCD or DVD of the cartoon series from the net soon - illegally if that’s the way it will turn out. How come you’re reading Tintin in French? Did they make any more books after the Blue Lotus?
