My article got published in Manila Bulletin!!
I mean, come on. The last time my name was printed in a newspaper was in an obituary (not mine, obviously ;p).

The article was so big, it wouldn’t fit the scanner but it can be viewed here. (Read it! Read it!) And for those who are curious, this is the article I reacted to. (Don’t bother! Life is too short to waste your time on that drivel!)
And for some reason, they included this image in my article:

You can’t see the suicide note from here, but it says: “I wish to thank no one. Everyone is against me.” *slaps forehead* That’s the kind of crap I would’ve written when I was fifteen and full of angst. ;p Tina asked me if the artist ever met me because she says the girl bears an uncanny resemblance to me. Well, he didn’t. I don’t think he even read the article. ;p
So yeah. I’m so going to do this again–get published in a newspaper, I mean. I didn’t get paid, but I gotta admit, it was a lot of fun. ![]()

Congrats on getting published in the Newspaper, Lauren
That was a very good piece of writing. Hope to see more of your works published.
I agree with your friend. The woman in that picture strangely resembles you. Keep surviving
very well put!!! i have tons of comments on the article you reacted to but that’s not for this comments box!
hope to read more of your writing…
many people have suicidal tendencies drowning from self-pity including me… depression isn’t something you can’t get over with…it still lingers within me but after reading your inspiring article, it gave me so much more to believe in, that i’m not alone in battling the suffocating stigma of depression
inspiring article that filled me with overflowing hope that would sustain through pangs of my suicidal tendencies.
whooaaa. So simple but yet very strong sense. That article deserves to get published. Keep it up, this is how you expose yourself to the real world and become/have solid rockfuture.
Very well put, Lauren.
Well done Lauren, very impressive article, I think you kicked that other girl’s ass! For someone who has never experienced true depression suicide is a very difficult to understand, but I think you really put it into perspective. I particularly liked the ending about learning to live for yourself and your own goals, very inspiring. Well done
Wow…
… wonderfully written. I love the way you write in your articles .
*hands clapping*
I read “A suicide note”, and I couldn’t have written a better rebuttal. Hang in there.
