Well, it wasn’t exactly a fairy tale, but it was fun nonetheless

I don’t know why, but on the night of my debut I was really, really nervous. My sister had to drag me out of the office room that I was hiding in. So much for my dramatic entrance. So much for walking in the room with style. ;p I don’t like being in the center of attention and knowing that everyone in the room was there just for me made me feel awkward, like I had inconvenienced them somehow or something. But my debut didn’t actually go as badly as I thought it would. Almost the entire clan from both sides of the family were there. All my good friends from college attended, and though very few people from my high school showed up, Alex did. I still need to get used to the idea that I’m not a burden to the people who love me. Tina and Kayelle did a really great job hosting my party, and when they ran out of things to say, Ponci and Migo thought up of things to do to entertain the guests. We actually played charades and got my cousins to tell incrimminating stories about the stuff I did when we were kids. >_< The eighteen wishes part became more of a, "The first time I met Lauren was when...", after Tzi-tzi stepped up to the mike. That part really touched me--I mean, who doesn't like to hear about the first time people met you and all the good things they have to say about you? ;p

The party ended at around midnight, and by the time I got to the house I realized that I hardly took a bite of the food, which my friends said was really great. So I dug into the leftovers and ended up having lechon and three servings of paella. Yum. :D

I woke up this morning like a little girl on Christmas day, because there was a huge plastic bag of presents waiting for me at the foot of my bed. The first present I opened turned out to be a silver ring with five purple gemstones and no gift tag. Until now I still have absolutely no clue on the identity of its sender. It's most likely a relative, but the thing is, I don't know if any of them know me well enough to know that my favorite color is purple and that I like silver and white gold jewelry. Oh well. Most of my presents turned out to be shower/bath gels and soap. (Are they trying to tell me something?) The next runnner up was candles and incense. Then I got dresses from my aunt and Angelica (one of which I'll wear to school tomorrow), books from Pat and Kayelle, hangers and organizers from an aunt, DVDs from Ponci and Migo, a collage of our camwhoring pics from Tina, money from my grandparents and aunt, and a bra from Tzi-tzi. Yes, a bra. I laughed so hard when I pulled it out of the gift bag because aside from the fact that a bra is very un-Tzi-tzi-like unless it's part of a joke, I've never received undergarments from a guy as a present. Of course, he clarified to me earlier that it was apparently his mom's idea and thought that I would like it for some reason.

I'd post pictures of the party but the good ones are with Tzi-tzi and I've yet to get the contacts from the photographer. So until then, let me leave you with this:

Hmmm…I got a lot of bags and books. Haha. And then that’s it. Some are clothes, some are decorative stuffs. But the majority of what I got are bags and books. Hehe.
