Best birthday ever

March 25th, 2004 with 193 views

I woke up this morning and…yeah.

Apparently, Tina, Kayelle, and Aligs have been at the house since 7 a.m. to decorate the living room. Aligs slept over Kayelle’s last night but he didn’t actually get any sleep because he spent the entire night cutting out confetti that they forgot to bring with them. >_<
At 9 a.m. my mom woke me up and after making sure I got dressed, told me that my dad has a present for me at the living room that can’t be wrapped. (A car was the first thought that came into my mind.) When I got there the room was decorated with paper butterflies and purple and white crepe paper hanging from the ceiling. Then I saw Tina, Kayelle, Aligs, and Charlie lounging on a blanket on the floor. I stood there staring at them and the decorations, thinking, “Wait a minute. Why are they here? I thought the party was supposed to be at school…” And then it finally dawned on me that this is my surprise party. I’m somewhere in this picture.

I was so touched by the effort my friends took to decorate the place and surprise me. Being the emotional wuss that I am, I immediately burst into tears. For some reason, the first thing I did was blow the candles off my Toblerone cake. The candles were almost completely melted so I wasn’t able to think up of a wish until the last candle died out.

Cool picture of me that Kayelle drew. I am going to decorate this in my room. :D

We totally food-tripped today. Charlie bought a LOT of taho for breakfast because she remembered this one time we went to UP where I was looking all over for a taho vendor (AWWWW). Two hours later was lunch. We had puttanesca, pasta with this yummy mushroom/anchovy pasta sauce that Kayelle brought, corn, Max’s fried chicken, and barbecued pork. As if my Toblerone cake weren’t enough, we had mango creme pie for dessert and rocky road ice cream.

All the food made us sleepy, so camwhored then dozed off for a few minutes after lunch.

The view from below. I love the way the ceiling of our living room looks, even more so with the purple and white crepe paper hanging from it.

Playing with paper butterflies.

Taken just before everyone left. Yep, today definitely rocked.

Tina, Kayelle, Aligs, and Charlie–I can’t thank you guys enough for taking the time and effort to spend the day with me. I love you all. (For those who couldn’t make it, don’t worry, I don’t hold it against you.) Thanks also to everyone who greeted me through text, phone calls, and e-mails. Thanks to the Protagonist Community. I am truly touched that you remembered. :)
