High-pitched voices and Catholic schoolgirls
It’s still raining.
For the first time in years, I’m not happy to have the rainy days back because I’m going to the beach tomorrow and how can I really enjoy it with all that rain? *sigh* I’m definitely bringing the PlayStation because I highly doubt that I can go frolicking around the ocean with this weather.
School’s back for all the La Sallites out there! I couldn’t help but feel a little jealous from thinking of how my friends have it a lot easier than me because so many people from my school are going there and they don’t have to go through the awkward, I’m-lost-I-don’t-know-a-single-soul-in-here phase. I’m sure that none of them are taking up the same courses, so they’ll still have to go through that phase I just mentioned. But at least they had each other for moral support before school started.
Then again, I would like it a lot less if there were a lot of people from my school in Ateneo. It’d probably feel like a high school reunion again, which I wouldn’t want to happen until I’m really really rich or famous or something.
Something I heard from Angelica: Maricris picked Assumption over UST. O_o I was like, “What?!?!?” when I heard that because Maricris is an honor student, for crying out loud, who is a total genius at math. And it wasn’t like she was waitlisted at UST either. She already got accepted, which is why I don’t get why she chose to go to Assumption instead. Angelica says it’s most probably because Glyka and Dina are going there too.
Gosh. (This remark might make me come off as a really bad person, but I’ll go ahead and say it anyway…) For someone so smart, she sure can be dumb. Even though the thought of being all alone on my first day of school sounds really terrifying, I would never choose to go to a certain college just because all my friends are going there. Not to be mean or anything but Assumption is like…..college, high-school style. All-girls. Uniforms. Nuns. That is the very last school I would ever want to go to. O_o I want boys in my class, for a change. Boys!!! And strictly no nuns.
Is it just me, or does everybody else feel like smashing the radio to a hundred tiny pieces whenever the DJ plays Nina’s remake of Foolish Heart too? I swear to God, she totally butchered that song. If there’s anything I can’t stand, it’s when a singer sticks all these unnecessarily-exaggerated, high pitched notes in their songs. It’s no problem if they want to show off their voices every once in a while, but when they do that in every damn line it can be very annoying. I mean, we already know that Nina’s got a great voice; she doesn’t need to do the eardrum-breaking Mariah Carey thing to tell us that. Real artists should sing from their hearts. Whenever Nina sings like that, it sounds like she’s only singing from her throat. Or diaphram. It sounds so insincere. But what can you expect from a pop artist except a pretty face and lots of insincerity?
Damn I hate the radio.

yeah… i’d lose all reason to go to school if there were no boys.
Laur, Assumptionista here.
But you’re right naman in some aspects, Assumption is full of rigid and FRIGID nuns and countless of annoying and unecessary rules. Plus the uniform…After 13 years in Assumption, I think I’d go for no uniform now. What’s MAricris’ course ba in AC? If it’s design or anything, it’s okay that she’s going there kasi maganda yung course nila for that thing…
Anyway, rainy din jan? Super dito, especially the heavy winds. Dito mismo sa street namin, my neighbor saw a little baby tornado (lol, description..). Thank goodness alang tornadoes dito sa tin. Sorry about your ruined beach plans…:( Sayang din si Nina with her great voice. I can’t reach Foolish Heart’s notes! Grabe sa taas! I wish she’d release a new song na…Para hindi na nakakabingi yung song na yun.
I agree. I can’t stand people who choose schools because of the friends. Goodness, you go to the university for an education, not to hang out!
Laur…What’s your last name? Would you consider giving it to me?
I’m going through the ADMU website and it’s driving me insane! The registration proceedures alone is too much to remember…*cries* ARGH! I just found out that the first step is for last names of people to be at separate reg booths…Okay, jeez. I need to breathe. I hope we have at least in the same letter bracket so we get to reg at the same time and bitch about it….
