We all have our reasons to be here

My dad was in the mood to watch a movie this afternoon, but when I checked the movie schedules through my cell phone I was very chagrined to see that there were no movies showing. I don’t mean like there were no good movies showing–there were literally no movies at all. And I was really looking forward to eating a huge bag of Muscle Beach popcorn too. Grr. :P I know that it’s Holy Thursday and all, but just because 80% of the population are Catholic doesn’t mean that the government has to impose the rule that people cannot have fun on Holy Thursdays and Good Fridays. What about the other 20%? I swear, people in this country need more individuality and political corectness. It’s no wonder Mindanao wants to be independent from the rest of the Philippines. I don’t blame them at all. Sheesh.

I just arrived home half an hour ago because of Visita Iglesia. For those of you who don’t know, on Holy Thursday Catholics go to nine churches and to visit the Stations of the Cross. We ended up at Anthony and Christopher’s house in Quezon City before going to the 7th church, which is actually just a small chapel right across the street. It was funny because for some reason we found this really long litany of prayers quite amusing (something about a “glorious circumcision”, heh) and we were trying our very best to suppress our laughter. And it was hard because when one of us would snicker, everyone would break into laughter. Fortunately our parents didn’t seem to mind much and there weren’t any religious old ladies glaring at us or anything. Hanging out with my cousins is a lot of fun, even if we are just in a church/chapel.

We even went to the chapel of Ateneo tonight. I still haven’t gotten high school out of my system and I found it so hard to believe that I am actually, actually gonna be walking around this campus less than two months from now. *gulp*

I’m also a little worried about my living arrangements. Patsy said to me that if she gets accepted from the waitlist we can share a condo, and that her parents would give her a car so we can go places. She did get accepted, but so far we haven’t talked about our condo. I tried texting her about it but she isn’t replying so I’m guessing she’s abroad right now. I dunno though. Several people from my high school told me once that you can’t really trust everything Patsy says because she tends to lie compulsively. So now I am having doubts about her rooming with me. I don’t even think she will get a car; she probably just said that to make herself sound cool or something. *sigh* It’s so hard to find decent people to go around with these days. In the end, I’m still the best person I can rely on. And I don’t mind, really.
