You don’t even feel a thing

Pet peeve: People who can’t think for themselves.

At lunch time today, I went to the classroom after a rather exhausting morning of posing for the souvenir program of Aida. I found Angelica and Maricris chilling inside while some of the cheerleaders practiced the choreography.

“Hey, you guys wanna go to the cafeteria with me? I haven’t eaten all morning and I’m really starving,” I said, sitting on a chair next to them.

They both just kind of looked at each other. “Umm…what do you think, Maricris?” Angelica asked.

“I don’t know,” was Maricris’ intelligent reply.

Then they started telling me about some insignificant thing or other, and I really wasn’t in the mood for that because I was hungry.

“You haven’t answered my question yet,” I said. “Are you gonna go down with me or not?”

They looked at each other again. “Well..I’ll go if Maricris goes,” Angelica replied.

“Me? I really don’t know. I kind of want to stay here…”

“Come on. You guys have brains. Think! It’s okay if you don’t want to come downstairs with me, but just please give me an answer,” I said, exasperated.

No reply.

I sighed. “Fine then. See you later.” I got up and left without waiting for them to say goodbye.

I don’t mean to be so mean. My friends are nice, but they can really get on my nerves sometimes. I wish I had friends who aren’t so damn naive, and who can make simple decisions by themselves.
