Let’s get depressed

Let’s get depressed. For some reason I am in a moody mood tonight and I feel like aggravating it further by listening to a great batch of sentimental songs. Songs that remind me of a certain person. I’m telling you, love is shit (I am referring to romantic love). I mean, it got Romeo and Juliet killed. Sure, it feels great to be loved “in that way”, but the pain that comes with it is even greater. I wish I were immune to feeling romantic love for anyone so I wouldn’t have moments like this.

Even though yesterday was the last day of exams, we still had to go to school today for the Living Rosary and the United Nations program. A Living Rosary is when a group of people pray the rosary with a life-size one present in the area. It never used to be a big deal in our school until we changed principals during my sophomore year. Now our principal makes a big production of it because parents are usually present during the Living Rosary. She loves sucking up to parents because naturally, they’re the ones who pay for everything. For the students, the Living Rosary means standing for an hour or so under the heat of the sun whilst praying at the same time. I don’t mind praying the rosary, I really don’t. But it’s annoying when we have to pray under those circumstances. I mean, how can anyone pray sincerely under the heat of the sun? Fortunately the seniors were assigned to stay in this part of the quadrangle where there were benches, so we got to sit down during the most part of the rosary and none of the teachers seemed to mind.

Nothing else worth mentioning happened at school. All I did was listen to my Discman and watch everyone get ready for the United Nations program. I went straight home after school because again, none of my friends felt like going out.
