You’re really lovely underneath it all
Listening to: Lonely Day by Phantom Planet
It’s official. My current favorite band in the whole wide world is Phantom Planet. For some reason I forced myself awake at 6 p.m. from my afternoon nap. Groggily, I made my way to the kitchen to get myself something to eat. After making myself a tuna sandwich, I sat down in front of the TV and channel surfed. For some reason, Lonely Day was stuck in my head from the time I woke up and when I checked out MTV, guess what video was starting to play? Lonely Day! Alex Greenwald (the vocalist) didn’t look so cute there because his face wasn’t shaved, which gave him a rugged look instead of the kinda boyish one that I like. But my god, Sam Farrar really looked like this certain tall thin guy that I know who doesn’t e-mail me anymore. As in exactly. From the sharp nose to the prominent Adam’s apple. I seriously think that Sam Farrar is that person in disguise, which is probably why he hasn’t been keeping in contact with me like he promised.
It’s rare that there are two cute guys in one good band, and since their songs are pretty cool as well, then I am now obsessed with Phantom Planet.
ACET’s in two days, and I don’t have school tomorrow thanks to a high school faculty meeting. Let’s do some math, shall we? I think my chances of getting in Ateneo are 10,000 to 1 (or do you say that as 1 to 10,000?). I mean seriously, I feel very discouraged. I once went with Kapst, Annie and Glaiza to the guidance counsellor’s office during lunch time. They like to chill with the high school guidance counsellor, Mrs. S., when they aren’t cramming for a test or doing last-minute homework. Mrs. S. is a real nice lady, but I don’t like to get too close with teachers or with anyone who works at school. It feels kind of weird. Anyway, when I was there, I asked Mrs. S. how many seniors got into Ateneo last year, and do you know what she said? Two. Two out of around seventy or eighty seniors. And those two who got in were like, the smartest ones in their batch. So I wonder how I can possibly get in Ateneo with my average grades and the fact that I am quite mathematically-challenged. I guess I’ll just have to hope that the English part won’t be as hard, and that I’ll be able to answer most of the General Intelligence questions. They actually ask about who won the Oscar for Best Actress and stuff. So I guess I need to know that kind of shit, and maybe some current events as well.
I think I’ll go burn myself a CD.

don’t reduce into a ratio your chances of getting into ateneo. it’s not with the grades. promise. it’s either your IQ is high or you’re a wiz at taking exams. i was the most average student in our batch (smack in the middle of the curve) and i even missed the acet because of chicken pox (it’s a good thing they scheduled a special exam for me, whew!) yet i passed! but i decided to go to u.p. anyway. hehehe. good luck!

If you’re thinking what I’m thinking, Sam looks like one of your characters of your jounal.
