Stupid, random thoughts and chocolate milk
I went out to buy some stuff I’d need for the Laos/Bangkok trip this afternoon, and finally got around to packing my things when I got back. Surprisingly, it didn’t take me as long as I expected to finish and I spent the rest of my afternoon playing Final Fantasy 9. Then Jeric called and asked me to be his date for his grad ball next March.
I said yes of course, because a grad ball is just as good as a prom and since my school is too crappy to have a prom or grad ball, at least I can experience one of them somehow. Besides, it’s the perfect excuse to get to buy a dress and look gorgeous just for the sake of it. Of course, he could always change his mind since March is a long way from now but I don’t think I’m that forgettable.
And then the news came out that Martin Burnham, the hostage victim of the Abu Sayyaf, got shot. Mom made me put the phone down and watch the news, which I did. I’m not too terribly fond of current events. I’m telling you, if you want to make yourself feel depressed, just turn the TV to CNN and you’ll get nothing but enough bad news to last you for the rest of your life. But I didn’t mind watching for now because at least something exciting is happening. I only watch the news when something exciting happens. So there I was, sitting there all ears to the rescue attempt, when all of a sudden the camera did a close-up on an American solider’s face. “Hey!” I exclaimed, going back from serious me to guy-crazy me. “He’s hot!” I was to see two more cute American soldiers in the news, and right then and there I made up my mind to become an American citizen and join the army so I can be with all the cute guys day in and out.
Mom said they probably don’t smell so hot because they aren’t used to the heat but who cares? They’re cute! Lucky girls who joined the army. I probably wouldn’t last two minutes in the army though, what with all the rigorous training they have to go through and all. Besides, I’ll probably have to go on for days without ever seeing a mirror and I just can’t live like that.
Gosh, what an extremely sensitive person I am. There were three kids who lost a father today and all I can think of are the cute guys in the American army. Jesus.
Stephen and Alex came over to my house just before I was about to use the computer. It was raining and all, and they walked all the way from our Math tutor’s house to my house just for the heck of it. It was touching, really. I kind of missed the days when we were always hanging out at someone’s house, usually Stephen’s, and eating food until we became totally bloated. Stephen lost weight and looks a lot better now; Alex gained some. They haven’t changed much. Alex keeps saying that she thinks she’s too young to be eighteen, which is kind of true. Her personality hasn’t changed ever since I met her when she was fourteen. Oh well. I guess some people just mature faster than others. We’re all gonna go out with Chris at Rockwell tomorrow, just like old times. I can’t wait to see Chris again. I wonder what he looks like right now, cos he looked really good when I saw him last Halloween. Not that I have a crush on him or anything…but he’s getting kind of cute.
I miss my long hair! I wish it would grow back already. I just don’t feel feminine with short hair. And the annoying thing is, the right side of my hair keeps flying away for some weird reason while the left side stays put. Ugh, I can’t stand it.

You’re going to be his date? Jeeze, I wish my life worked like that. And the (North) American standard is to shower everyday you know
oh, and also, you look cute with short hair (note also that your hair isn’t *that* short right now).
I like your hair cut. Guys in the military tend not to be very intelligent. You should watch JAG there are some hot guys on that television show. I hope you have fun on the trip. ^^
JAG has very cute guys!!!
Hey you make it sound like your hair’s so awful.. I think the cut is nice! ^_^ I used to have short hair and it didn’t make me feel any less feminine than I was with longer hair. But I hope it grows long again if that’s what you want.
Oooh.. and that’s great.. being his date!
Oooh. He’s probably waiting to make a move on you, Lauryn!
