It’s another perfect day

Last night was really funny. How I love spontenouity and unexpected events. My cousins Arielle and Ingrid and my Tita (aunt) Hazel are staying over our house until Saturday. For some reason, my cousins wanted to go to Dreamscape in Robinsons’ Galleria that night. Galleria is this mall half an hour away from the house without traffic. I jumped at the chance to go out with them since I won’t be doing anything better with my time anyway. We left the house at seven using the car of my Tita Aura who is at the States right now. Because the traffic was really bad, we weren’t able to reach Galleria until eight. No problem. We thought the stores wouldn’t be closing until nine or ten, but when we reached Dreamscape we learned that they had just closed! So we decided to go window-shopping instead, but apparently every store in Galleria closes at eight p.m. as well. Damn! But the evening wasn’t ruined yet. Arielle suggested that we go have some coffee at Eastwood City and since nobody felt like going home yet we all agreed to that.

When Tita Hazel opened the automatic car window to give the carpark guy the money for parking, the glass suddenly tilted. We tried to put it back to its normal position but the glass wouldn’t cooperate with us. It was kind of cute actually cos the glass fell into a triangular shape. My aunt panicked because she thought she destroyed my Tita Aura’s car window. She decided to have it fixed in her friend’s auto shop all the way in Fairview, where she lives. Fairview is like an hour and a half away from my house and since we probably won’t get there until around ten-thirty or eleven, she decided that we spend the night there.

It was so much fun last night because we stayed up until two a.m. talking, eating junk food and playing Sim Town. Even though that’s a really old game, it’s still a lot of fun to play. I want my own copy! It was too bad for my sister because she was at rehearsals when that all happened, which meant that she spent the night all by her lonesome.

I had a haircut today, courtesy of my effeminate grand-uncle Bernard. I’ve never met him until now, and it’s hard to believe he’s my grandma’s age (late 60s) because he looks so young. Like around 48 or something. I’m quite satisfied with the style of my hair, but the problem is that it’s short. I couldn’t stand how my long hair made life so uncomfortable for me, what with the summer heat and all. So yes, I had it cut, and whatever mystery and sexiness I had absolutely disappeared. I look like my old, tomboyish, sophomore-year self without the bangs. Bah. I’m sure I’ll look great when my hair grows after several months or so. But right now I look really dorky.

I made the mistake of going to a party while I was feeling kind of self-conscious about my looks. It’s Cox’s birthday on Monday and she had a party at her house tonight. For those of you who don’t know, Cox is my butch friend who moved to my school during sophomore year. She got kicked out because of low grades and now goes to some other school. Anyhow, we hung out with the same people back at school and since she said she invited them I thought that they’d show up. It turns out that I’m the only one from my school who went there. Everyone else in attendance were girls from Assumption (the school she used to go to before got kicked out and moved to my school) and girls from the school she goes to now. So yes, technically it was a girl party but there were lots of butches around too, which gave me the impression of being in a coed party.

I felt terrified because everyone else knew everyone else and nobody but Cox knew me. At least I met this girl named Alex whose girlfriend is Cox’s best friend. She was the only stranger there who really talked to me and two hours later, I pretty much knew everything about her entire life. Let’s se…I learned about her family (dad, mom, one older sis and one younger sis), her five ex-boyfriends and three ex-girlfriends. She was really nice, and I’m glad she was kind-hearted enough to keep me company. Cox stopped by our table from time to time too, but mostly she was with her other friends. All in all, it wasn’t so bad, really. It just sucks that I’m not a very social person like Kriya is. If she was in my place, I bet everyone in the party would be her friend by the end of the night.

Bah. I wish there was some shampoo I could use that would make my hair grow faster.
