Today is my parents’ 17th wedding anniversary and we had lunch at Eastwood City to celebrate. Eastwood City isn’t actually a city; it’s this group of restaurants on some land developed by this bank. The place is always packed at night but surprisingly, hardly anyone was there when we had lunch. I guess Eastwood is the kind of place that’s fun to go to only in the evening. We had to choose which restaurant to eat in right away because it was so hot and the plaza hardly offered any shade. We ate at Cable Car, which is a bar that’s shaped like those cable cars in San Francisco. Aside from a couple who left half an hour after we came in, we were the only ones in the place. We took our time eating because we planned to visit my Auntie Belen and cousins in Quezon City but they wouldn’t be back until 2:30.

To kill time, we visited this store next door to Cable Car called Amoeba . It’s this place where you can trade in CDs you don’t like for the CDs available there with the same value as the CD you wanna get rid of. I am so glad somebody thought of that because I have lots of CDs that are just gathering dust and taking up precious CD rack space. I’m going back there either tomorrow or on Tuesday because they have My Own Prison (Creed) and Frogstomp, the only silverchair album that’s missing from my collection. Amoeba also sells brand new CDs and some books. Dad had several beers during lunch and was in a generous mood so he offered to buy a CD each for my sister and I. She got Utada Hikaru’s latest CD and much to my surprise, I opted to buy Chicosci’s Method Of Breathing. Chicosci is a local rock band and although I’m not really fond of local rock music, what made me buy the CD was the cover. Stupid reason, yes, but they had traditional Indian art all over the CD and I just had to buy it. The CD itself was okay, but I prefer artists who sing the lyrics. Glass Is Broken is a good song though.

Anyway, I’m a huge sucker for traditional Indian art. I was looking through the books at Amoeba and to my surprise, I came across the Kama Sutra. The very first I’ve ever seen, and it actually had illustrations. I got it and two seconds later, my mom spotted what I was looking at and made me put it back on the shelf. I’m not sure she believed me when I told her I was just looking at the art but anyways..I made her promise to buy me a copy with illustrations as a wedding present in the distant future. My mom says the sexual positions in the Kama Sutra are weird and that I might break my neck trying them. But maybe they’ll actually feel good; if it does, then the guy I am going to marry is gonna be one very lucky sonuvabitch. Seriously though, I really do find traditional Indian art cool and not just the ones in the Kama Sutra.

    I just want want to comment on what Miggy said regarding Indians. Not all Indians are smelly and it does not mean that when one person of a specific race smells bad everyone else does too. My father is an Indian and my mother is a filipina and what that stupid Miggy said is not justified. There are some filipinos who smell bad too but I dont think negatively against all Filipinos. Miggy should be more open-minded and Miggy should remember that Indians have many achievements and he/she may not even be upto my friends ass who is a very intelligent and nice smelling Indian and she looks like a Miss Universe winner.
