My EKO guitar

Well guess what. I didn’t win. I suppose it was because I was wearing heels three inches tall and I was standing up for an entire hour because the damn show started late. So you could just imagine how painful my feet were by the time it was my turn. Compared to the others, I felt a tad overdressed but a lot of people liked what I was wearing so I guess that’s okay. I got like, four blisters and I didn’t even win. :( Oh well….ramp modelling has never been my thing anyway.

My uncle Sean–the one who gave me the red Eko guitar–came over to the house today. Actually it turns out that the Eko guitar didn’t belong to him; it belonged to my great-grandmother. She bought it from a garage sale of an American leaving the Philippines and she used it to attract crowds during my great-grandfather’s campaign for Congressman. Wow, interesting history. I didn’t think my guitar would be that old. Anyway, my uncle saw what we did with it and he was very impressed. He played it a lot when I was still in school, and when I got back from my math tutor I was able to catch up with him and my aunt before they left. I heard him play for the first time tonight and I was surprised cos I didn’t know he was good at the guitar. He said he’d teach me some stuff the next time he comes to the house, which would be so cool. And then he told me that it’s not a good idea to copy the styles of the songs that I listen to cos every musician has his/her own style. Trying to copy somebody else’s will just frustrate me. Maybe that’s why I don’t understand the tablature that I print from the internet.

Five more days until summer break!!
