Barbie party

At least the last day of my week-long break from school wasn’t boring. Bianca’s (my five-year old cousin) Barbie party was held at our house this afternoon and I never knew I could have so much fun at a kiddie party. Luckily for me my dad had to attend three wakes this afternoon, which gave me the freedom to wear a halter top without the hassle of bringing my denim jacket with me. :) My arms and shoulders need to breathe too. My aunt put me in charge of applying makeup and nail polish on the kids, a job which I enjoyed very much. At first, the kids were kind of shy and pretty much let me choose everything for them; something which surprised me a little. I always had this impression that kids were talkative, precocious and totally un-shy. I suppose I got used to my cousins’ personalities, the only kids I’m ever around. But after I started to use this really cool blue eyeshadow with silver glitters, they all started clamoring for it. I noticed that most of the girls were wearing blue tops or dresses, and for those who wore pink I used the pink eyeshadow. I swear, they all looked so cute when I was done! :) (photos:1,2,3, 4,5, 6 )

The day flew by really quickly and it’s such a bummer to have to go back to school tomorrow. My only consolation is that summer is only a mere month and a half away from now, but from the way time seems to drag on at the moment it seems like it’ll take forever. During Holy Week I’ll be going to the mountains and I’m really excited. I haven’t been to our log cabin since the year 2000, and even though these gross-looking bugs and spiders were everywhere I still think it’s a beautiful place. All these pine trees and mountains and waterfalls, not to mention that the stars are really clear at night. Just remembering it all makes me feel happy. I’m not a very big country girl but once in a while it’s fun to retreat to the rural areas for a couple of days.

Well I guess I’d better ready my stuff for school.
