How lovely to be a woman

My short experience during the school play kinda inspired me to take up…*drum roll*….jazz dance lessons. I thought I could never again bring myself to enter a room with wooden floors and huge wall-length mirrors. But even though I’m not particularly talented when it comes to dancing, I’m not that bad at it either once I get used to the steps. And since I don’t really have anything to do this week I thought dance lessons would be a productive way to occupy my spare time. Unfortunately, the schedule for jazz lessons were lousy–weekends for kids’ jazz and night schedule on weekdays for adults. Damn. Maybe during summer then. I’m thinking that I should audition for the school’s dance club if–and only if–I ever become that good. They wear really cute outfits for competitions. Besides, I need the exercise.

I had nothing else to do today, so I had the backlights of my cellphone changed to blue. I actually wanted purple backlights but the housing of my cell was already purple and I didn’t want it to end up looking like a mutated grape. After the business with the backlights I bought a book at the secondhand bookstore. It’s called Songs In Ordinary Time by Mary McGarry Morris and it’s around 700 pages long. Perfect for my weeklong break from school. The storyline’s kind of slow though but then again, long books start to get really exciting somewhere in the middle.

Tomorrow morning I’ll be accompanying two of my aunts to Divisoria to buy stuff for Bianca’s (the five-year old cousin I was talking about yesterday) Barbie party this Sunday. At least I’ll have something to do. I’m actually kind of looking forward to Bianca’s party actually cos I get to do the hair, makeup and nails of the other little kids. I swear, kids parties these days can be a lot of fun. Back in my days, face painting was completely unheard of. Makes me wish I was a kid again. In fact I want to start collecting Barbies again, except that I won’t remove them from their boxes. So what if Barbie dolls can drive some girls to anorexia? I like how they look and I love their outfits. I swear, it’s so much fun being a girl. :)
