Maybe we’ll be better then

Today was almost a good day. I even had a pretty good sleep. Last night I dreamt of Ice, the director of our school play (his real name is Dan but for some reason, he wants people he isn’t familiar with to call him Ice). What happened in the dream is none of your business but anyways, it pissed me off when my sleep was interrupted this morning. It sucks; during school nights I get good dreams but during weekends and breaks my dreams are really lousy. Ugh.

Socially I fared far better than I did yesterday. I was actually laughing and joking a lot with the juniors who organized the play. And I even attended cheerleading practice and managed to get along somehow with Kapst and company. Angelica was there too, which made me feel much better than I did in days She hasn’t been going to school cos we hardly do anything except practice. Right now she’s my closest friend in school.

I was looking forward to seeing our director today because of that dream I had last night. He came at around three and when he asked for a company call I made sure that I sat at the very front. A few minutes later I found my attention wandering and my eyes staring dreamily upwards. Ice isn’t really what I’d define as hot, but he carries himself well–not to mention that I like his biceps. He’s a really awesome dancer and singer. And his smile…his smile. Even if you’re having the worst day of your life, if he flashes you that killer smile you can’t help but smile back at him. Lately though, he hasn’t been smiling that smile because he’s been quite irritated at us. He says we lack energy and that it seems like we don’t care that we will be performing in less than four days. Well tonight he reached the end of his patience and exploded when some people were late in entering the dance of the finale. He was really screaming his head off and it was kind of scary. He got mad at us twice before but I’ve never seen him that angry. He was on the point of giving up and quitting but since our first performance is in two days it would be very unethical of him to do that.

Still, around half of the cast members have had no experience in theater before. And since we barely had a month to put the show together, we skipped the basics in theater performance. So I guess you can’t blame us for being somewhat clueless when it comes to acting or miming or whatever. Well I’m doing my best, I really am. But I just don’t know..I’m quite worried that the show will be a flop, which will be a huge embarassment to us all. Then again, it’s really difficult to produce a good show within a month and with so many cast members at that.

Well I’m ranting too much, I can’t really think well right now. I’m too sleepy. Hopefully I’ll have more good dreams tonight. Maybe of Michael, perhaps (he wasn’t there today, sob!).
