Meet the Parents

The past few days I’ve been thinking of ways for me to earn money because I am so fed up of being broke all the time! I don’t want to always depend on my parents for the things that I need/want or for gimmick money. My CD business isn’t earning me much, even though I’m selling a lot. And I won’t have any allowance till next week because of the shoes that I bought. So I thought really hard and I remembered that my aunt has a really close friend who is a talent agent or something like that. He’s always looking for people to star in commercials or something, and I was like, why not? Commercial modelling is the only job that teenagers can do around here. Plus, it will be an asset and I will be semi-famous; people will see me everywhere but not know my name or where I live and stuff. Which is the kind of fame I want. I don’t want to be as famous as a celebrity. The thought of the paparazzi following me around, making my private life public sickens me Not to mention the screaming fans thrusting pieces of paper at me wherever I go. Anyway, I was supposed to give my aunt a picture of me so she could give it to her friend but in my last picture I had too much makeup on and it looked so fake. So I went to the mall today and had another picture of me taken, this time with no makeup. I’m getting it tomorrow and I really, really hope it comes out great.

After I had the picture taken, I watched Meet the Parents because I didn’t feel like going home yet. The movie was absolutely funny. The cat is soooooo cute and Robert DeNiro reminds me of my dad a lot. Sometimes I wonder if any guy will dare court me cos of his intimidating character. Not that I mind; as of now I’m not really interested in love or in committing myself to anyone. I swear, if only the G4 cinemas didn’t have really cool sounds, comfy seats and an airconditioning system that freezes me to death, I would’ve stopped going there at all. Cellphones keep going off everywhere, ruining the movie for me. I’m laughing my head off, right, and then suddenly, someone’s Mission Impossible 2 cellphone ring tone goes off and the moment is lost. Cellphones have taken away the joy of going to movie houses. Sometimes I start to think that they are one of the worst things ever invented. I mean, they really come in handy when you go out with friends and stuff. But I just hate it when people can’t put their phones to silent mode while watching a movie! It’s really, really rude. If they were expecting an important phone call, they shouldn’t be watching a movie in the first place. What’s even more irritating is when they talk in a really loud voice. Or when they purposely keep their cellphones on just so it will ring and everyone can see that it’s an expensive model. *sigh* I used to think that having a cool cellphone was very important. Things like that don’t really matter to me anymore.
