Go away sun, I’m not prepared for you today
I got back last night from my overnight stay in Tagaytay with my cousins. One good thing I realized about this weekend is that I’m probably not as hopeless as I thought I was about sports. We spent most of our time at the Sports Center at Tagaytay Highlands and I can play a pretty good game of ping pong now. Two of my cousins are really good at it and I can’t receive their serves at all but I beat one of my uncles anyway and that made me feel good. I’m all right at badminton as well but my sister beat me. And I’m not so hopeless at billiards anymore!
My mom, my sister and I stayed at the resthouse of my aunt along with the aforementioned aunt and my two cousins. We arrived at night and we were pretty tired from the day’s activities so I went to bed right away. God, I didn’t know it was so cold in Tagaytay during December! It was almost as cold as Baguio, and maybe I would’ve appreciated the weather more if I was wearing something more than my denim jacket. When I woke up in the morning it was too cold to take a shower so I decided to just do that in the country club. I went outside the house to check out the scenery and it was such a beautiful place! All sorts of flowers everywhere. I sat on a swing attached to a jackfruit tree branch and thought that this was exactly the kind of place I’d like to stay at once I really want to get started on my novel. I look up at the sky, feeling perfectly contented. And to my horror, I saw that the branches of the tree were criscrossed with spider webs! With actual spiders on them! With a small shriek, I leaped up from the swing and dashed to the front porch of the resthouse. Those spiders don’t look like they’re poisonous, but one of them could always fall and land on my hair. I don’t think that would be a very pretty sight.
I soon discovered that every tree had several webs of these aforementioned spiders. I ceased to like the place as much as I did at first. I hate spiders and insects that crawl. That’s why I don’t like going to the mountains. Pretty as the view is, there are insects everywhere and I just can’t stand that.
Aside from sports, another activity we engaged in is eating. We ate a lot. Even though I said I didn’t want to eat anymore, once we get in a restaurant and I see everybody ordering, I start checking out the menu as well. Ugh. Well I think I burned off most of what I ate, I didn’t look so fat when I woke up this morning.
I don’t think I’ll be getting my guitar this Christmas, my dad says the other lawyer has to arrange things first.
I’m worried that by the time I get my guitar, I won’t be so into becoming a rock star anymore. I have to feed my interests the moment it’s hot, cos by the time it becomes lukewarm I don’t feel so enthusiastic about it anymore. I’ll probably still play my guitar by the time it gets here, if it gets here at all, but I’m already feeling very discouraged.
