I thought you’d return with postcards and moonrock and stuff
ontcha just love it when you have no school on a school day? I certainly do. Alex came over my house around lunch time today and we ordered a pizza and talked and talked and talked and talked. That girl never runs out of things to say, but I was impressed to note that she matured or so during the year we gave each other the silent treatment. One of the things she admitted to me was that she decided to stop hating me because she learned to accept that what I had done to her can’t be undone. Hating is unhealthy, she said, and one day she decided to pick from her shitlist the people she wanted to make up with. She told me she was really nervous when she came to my house last Sunday, and that made me feel kind of flattered she chose to make up with me, of all people. After three hours of talking about her school, my school, guys, and the people in her shitlist, she left saying she had to get her dollars changed cos she might go to the mall later. I had fun talking to her…well, listening to her, rather. She talked so much I could hardly get a word in.
Right after she left, I added a couple of paragraphs or so to my novel. That’s all I can ever really bring myself to add, just paragraphs. Making a novel is a lot harder than I thought it would be. I thought the words would flow easily, like the way it does when I write my journal entries. But maybe I’m having a slight writer’s block because I’m not used to creative writing anymore. I’m sure I’ll get used to it eventually but for now, I don’t have the time to concentrate on it because of school. *sigh* After half an hour of trying to make everything sound good, I remembered that I had to go to the mall to buy some school materials. I kind of wasn’t feeling like it, but then I thought that maybe this would be a good opportunity to do some shopping since I’ve got some money saved. I gave myself an hour and a half of bumming around in front of the TV before I left. I swear, MTV Asia sucks. They never play Silverchair videos. During Midweek Madness, they played RATM, they played Deftones, they played American Hi-Fi, they played Incubus, which I all enjoyed. But they didn’t play Silverchair, my biggest obsession ever. How totally unfair is that?
Just as I was about to leave for the mall with my mom, Alex came back. Since I kind of needed a second opinion so I could avoid buying something I wouldn’t end up wearing after fitting it, I asked her if she wanted to come shopping with me. She said she wouldn’t mind coming along so after buying the things I needed at National Bookstore, we looked around the little shops of Goldcrest. After visiting several shops and trying on several pairs of jeans, I ended up buying this really nice pair of low waist, grungy-looking flared jeans from this store where I once bought two of my tops. Apparently the saleslady recognized me from before and told me I would always have a 7% discount on whatever I buy there. Yay! It’s not much, but at least…right?
Alex and I went to U afterwards, this new department store in G4. The clothes and the little knicknacks are soooo cute, but because everything there is all imported, it was all just way too expensive. Girls are definitely the easiest people to give presents to because they will appreciate anything they consider cute. Today was fun, it certainly made up for the lost time between me and Alex. While I don’t think we’ll be best friends or anything like that, we’ll probably be as close as we used to be back in freshman year.
I can’t believe I go back to school tomorrow. But at least I’m two days away from the weekend! ![]()
