Put your hand up if you’re a jock
Today wasn’t much. Slept in for most of the morning and then spent the early part of the afternoon working on my Home Ecs. project, which is a corner lamp. It actually looks like one of those Japanese lamps, and it would look rather nice if only I was good at these kind of things. I had a devil of a time trying to hammer the wood pieces together, and in the end it wasn’t even proprotioned. But unless you look at it closely, it’s not that obvious. Sewing is not one of my fortes; now I have carpentry to add to my list. I certainly hope I get a good grade in this project for all my effort.
Then when I had nothing else to do, I shut myself in my room and with the cat sleeping on the foot of my bed, read The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood by Rebecca Wells. I’m only halfway through but I swear, that book is so awesome! It makes me long for really, really close girlfriends of my own. I do have close girlfriends but I never ever felt like, 100% comfortable with a girlfriend since Dina and I were best friends last year. It’s like, you know you can tell her whatever you want without getting worried that she might think you’re totally losing it. That’s the kind of friendship I long to have again but as I’ve said, not many people understand me or at least want to try to. Perhaps it’s also because I can be such a lousy friend sometimes. There are days when I feel like I’m so deeply immersed in my own problems and worries. So when my own friends whine and complain about something so trivial, I simply have to restrain myself from screaming and screaming. *sigh* Sometimes I just can’t understand people at all.
I think I’ll go and watch some TV.
