Imagination is the one weapon in the war against reality

It was unusually hot today. And it didn’t help that before school, the entire student body was made to walk around the entire school twice as a dry run for the procession tomorrow (tomorrow is the feast day of my school’s patron saint). It was so awful; in some areas there wasn’t any shade and the sun was really beating down on us even though it was barely eight in the morning! I swear, I hate this tropical climate. When that torture was finally over, we headed upstairs to our classrooms, hoping to seek relief in our air-conditioned classrooms. To our horror, our principal had our air-conditioners turned on forty-five minutes later! We could get sick, she said, if we stay in a cold room after being under the heat. I don’t think that’s true; I go directly to an air-conditioned room the moment I start sweating like hell. We aren’t allowed to touch the air-con units because the school treats us like uncivilized cannibals who have never seen air-cons in our primitive lives so we had no choice but to suffer the heat and at the same time, try to understand our Chemistry lesson. Miraculously, I was able to understand the damn thing, after two days of staring at the blackboard in utter and total confusion!

Other than that, the rest of my day was boring. Nothing but more practice for Friday as usual (Filipino Week celebration). The internet’s being slow as usual and once again I’m out of words. I’d better get some sleep tonight–I’ve got a lot of walking to do tomorrow.
