Don’t you think it’s time to start thinking?

We didn’t have any of our morning classes today because we had to take the annual aptitude test by the Center for Educational Measurement, or the CEM test as we call it. I didn’t think much of it–in fact I was glad because it meant we wouldn’t have our test in Filipino. I was actually even looking forward to it, because the CEM test is usually a piece of cake. During the past years I have answered most of the questions without any real problems.

This year however, everything changed. The first part of the test was composed of the usual math problems and English (which I did well) and Filipino (which I had to guess) vocabulary questions. But as I turned the page confidently, thinking the rest of the test would be as easy, I was shocked to see that the next hundred or so questions were analysis questions that involved shapes and curved lines and hidden figures and blocks. And I was positive that I would ace this thing! Answering them took so much concentration and brain power that by the time I was done I felt physically drained. Jesus, if college entrance tests are anything like this shit, I’m sure to be rejected. Later, I learned that the reason why the test had all these analysis questions was because the results would tell us what sort of career we could possibly consider. Now what do hidden figures have anything to do with my wanting to be a writer, I wonder?

At the moment, I am absolutely crazy over WinAmp skins. I’m on a download frenzy and already I’ve managed to download a Silverchair skin. :)

It’s Casey’s 17th birthday and I made a birthday page for him. Go check it out….I had a lot of fun making it.
