Ignore reality, there’s nothing you can do about it

School’s all right. We get out an hour and a half early thanks to a teachers’ meeting. There seems to be a lot of teachers’ meetings this schoolyear, I wonder why. Anyhow, I turned down an invitation to go out (gasp!) because I thought I’d use this rare opportunity to rest and get a head start on my projects. Well, I’m feeling a bit tired already due to the homework I had to write so I’ll make this quick.

I submitted my short story to my editor for the school paper today. I’m hoping to be an editor, hopefully the editor-in-chief, for the school paper when I become a senior. I’m not sure who exactly gives their positions but I really hope I get chosen. I’m really worried that the people in school, particularly my batchmates, won’t like my short story. When it comes to my writing, I can be extremely sensitive because it’s the only talent I have that I do good in. I know that I got some good feedback from the people who read it in my journal, but then my batchmates don’t read and wouldn’t know trash from good literature. Then again, if they know nothing, I shouldn’t worry about what they think. Right.

It was raining hard this afternoon and the classroom felt deliciously cold. Too bad it doesn’t rain hard enough for classes to get suspended.
