Here lies a poor woman who always was tired

Today was very much like the summer minus the sweltering heat; quiet, unstressing and uneventful. Since I was already done with all my homework I took this opportunity to finish reading On the Goddess Rock by Arlene Chai. At first I thought I should continue playing Xenogears but I decided to save that when I’ve really got lots of spare time and nothing else to do.

After visiting the cemetery this afternoon, my dad wanted to check out the S&R Price that just opened at The Fort. I actually didn’t feel like going because right after the cemetery I planned to stay in my room for the rest of the afternoon. It was a desert out there; by then it had stopped raining and there was not a leafy tree in sight. I passed by the exit door and caught a whiff of the place…it smelled so much like CostCo in the States and all of a sudden I couldn’t wait till I got out of the Philippines. I hate the heat so much! Anyhow, I was hoping my dad wouldn’t feel like going in anymore cos the place was packed and I know how much he hates crowds. Much to my dismay and shock, he lined up for the one-day pass (you can’t get in without a membership card) and I bet if I was a two-year old instead of a fifteen-year old I’d be screaming my lungs out right then and there. “I wanna go home, it’s hot, and I’m bored, bored, BORED!!!” I sat in one of the chairs with this pout on my face and felt very bratty until my dad finally got his pass and we went into the air-conditioned store. Ahh….the smell!!! The nostalgia!! I can’t wait to go to the States again.

After checking the store out (we didn’t buy anything; the lines were too long and dad didn’t have the patience to wait) we finally went home. I then spent the rest of the afternoon finishing the aforementioned book and starting five or six pages of Black Hearts by Arlene Chai before taking a nap with the cat on my tummy.

How I wish school was a lot less stressful and I get more days like this.
