Call it bad, call it good
Today was such a tiring day. Nothing worth writing about happened in school today but after school I went to Filipinas Heritage Library for an afternoon program with Arlene Chai. Athena was also there. Anyway, Arlene is a Filipino-Chinese-Australian living in Sydney and I really, really love her books. It lasted a lot longer than I expected it to be but every minute was worth it. The talk was very inspiring, especially to a frustrated writer like me. I now realize why I find it difficult for me to write short stories or poetry these days. Arlene said that if she stayed in the Philippines she probably wouldn’t be able to write because of her hectic social life. My social life is far from hectic but then there’s school and other things. Besides, I’m bored with the Metro Manila scenario. I need to get out of here! I’m seriously moving to San Francisco right after college and who knows, maybe one day I’ll come up with a bestseller or something.
I’m super, duper tired right now. It’s only nine-thirty and I feel like going to bed already! School drains the very little energy left in me and I hate it so much. The only reason I try is because I don’t want to be poor when I grow up but it’s hard. I wish the teachers would just shut up about “junior year is the most crucial year in high school” and I wish they would lighten our load a little but they’re all a bunch of fucking sadists and I hate them.
